Biography
Michael W. Dale received his bachelor’s degree from Millsaps College in 1996, and his Master of Theological Studies from Duke University in 1998. Mr. Dale’s legal education includes a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Mississippi School of Law, and a LL.M in Taxation from Boston University School of Law. Mr. Dale began his law practice in 2003 in Jackson, Mississippi and relocated to Clarksville, Tennessee in 2005 where he has practiced primarily in the areas of estate planning and probate.
In 2016 Mr. Dale was appointed Clerk and Master for Montgomery County Chancery Court where he supervised the day-to-day operation of its Probate division. He was personally responsible for admitting wills to probate in common form, reviewing and approving fiduciary accountings, and holding hearings on matters such as elective share, spousal support and property distributions. While Clerk and Master, Mr. Dale conducted hearings on all partition actions filed in Chancery Court and was responsible for all court sales, to include delinquent tax sales.
Mr. Dale is licensed to practice law in all Tennessee trial and appellate Courts as well as the United States District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee. He has successfully litigated contested conservatorships, will contests and cases involving the validity and administration of Trusts. His areas of practice include wills, estate planning, trust formation and administration, probate, conservatorships and guardianships.
